Well, today was not a good day. The pain set in from the central line surgery and Ezra was inconsolable for much of the day, despite the use of a good amount of pain medication. We are hoping for a better day tomorrow before the side effects of the chemo set in.
Despite that, we had two good distractions. First, Musicians on Call stopped by with their guitars and we jammed to Puff the Magic Dragon and some Music for Aardvarks songs. Nothing makes Ezra happier than holding a guitar. The musicians told us that they were blown away by his guitar skills. Only problem is that he loves it so much that he didn't want to give back the guitar...he is still a 3 year old. Another thing Ezra loves is vacuum cleaners. Mommy and Daddy gave him a vacuum cleaner for taking his oral meds and it got him out of bed and walking around. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that it really has suction power and it's picking up plenty of dirt off the floor. Swifter Wetjet is now being bought to keep up with our crazy germaphobic standards.
if he persists in loving the vacuum cleaner, his wife will be a very happy woman...
ReplyDeleteHang in there guys, hoping tomorrow is a better day.
ReplyDeleteGotta love that he loves to clean! Hoping tomorrow is a better day! Thinking of you!

To our little flower girl, Evan and Ezra,
ReplyDeleteWe just wanted to shed a big ray of hope to you during
this tough time.
John's best friend since he was 6, his name is Ricky found out that he had Leukemia and needed a bone marrow transplant. He too waited a long time for a match, but they couldn't find an exact match.
They did find 2 stem cells, that were somewhat close, one
from a boy and the other a girl.
He decided to take his doctor's advise and go ahead with the
operation, because she said if they waited they might not have access to these stems again and also that he might not
find another match in the near future.
The actual process took only a few minutes for both stems.
We are thrilled to tell you that the stem cells took, the
male one was accepted in the final outcome, even though
Ricky said there was more of the female stem and that as
of a few weeks ago he is cancer free...no leukemia cells
in his bone marrow!
Ezra is such an adorable, curious and strong little boy.
We hope that in the very near future he will have the same
successful outcome as Ricky did.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you always.
All our love,
Michele and John
Thinking of you guys and praying for better days ahead. Keep that little boy happy. Ali & Andrew
ReplyDeleteJust remember: big heroes come in small packages; and you two are not too shabby either.
ReplyDeleteWe love you guys and are thinking of you!!!
ReplyDeleteGo Ezra! a new genre of indie music that combos guitars and vacuums. The kid likes to live loud!
ReplyDeleteHe looks like such a teenager in that picture with the guitar. I'll be at all his concerts. Hope today is a painless one.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and keeping ezra and family in our prayers!! Hugs, Karen Berger and fam
ReplyDeleteEzra will be writing songs about these experiences soon enough and we will be in awe of him as we are already. He is a little hero. We are all thinking of you. Love, Jill, Garri, Sama and Gabe
ReplyDeleteI am one of the few people in Manhattan that has tiles throughout my apartment... Here's the deal: don't get a swiffer wetjet, get a "steamer." (I use a Vaporetto, which can be found here: http://www.polti.it/en/catalog/consumer/66)
ReplyDeleteSwiffers don't do much... Steam, on the other hand, makes an incredible job at deep cleaning floors! But not only floors... walls, bathrooms, ovens.
You need one.
